We are almost there! One more week of school!

Don't forget about all the fun activities this coming week! Dig It performed by our 6th graders kicks off the week, followed by Goodwill Games and Family Lunch. We finish off the week with 6th Grade promotion and send off. Lastly, I hope to see families at the Party in the Park next Friday when school gets out!

After the final bell on Friday, May 31st, join us at Ashley Falls park for a fun kick off to summer.

Please accompany your child, we are not providing childcare for this event.

Feel free to bring some snacks to share. We will be setting up at the park at 12 pm.

The Kona Ice Truck will be present. Ashley Falls students accompanied by an adult will be paid for by the Ashley Falls PTA. Any additional orders can be purchased directly from the truck.

Volunteer Opportunities

The Ashley Falls PTA traditionally hosts our school's field day or "Goodwill Games" the day before the final day of the school year. It is a fun time for students to get outside and play a variety of games with their classmates before summer starts. This is also a fun adult volunteer opportunity.

SLIP Family Information Corner

The Ashley Falls PTA is looking for a parent who would be interested in being the SLIP Room Parent Liaison for next school year. This person would help to coordinate communication regarding SLIP specific events to all SLIP room parents.

The first district wide SLIP Family social event was a success! We had a nice turn out from both Ashley Falls and Del Mar Hills Families. Thank you to all who attended! There is brief survey for parents to obtain information on what families would like to see from a SLIP community perspective!

6th Grade Festivities

A portion of the Ashley Falls PTA budget is allocated to host a memorable promotion week for our 6th graders. From the first day they step onto our campus to the last day that they "fly the nest," our PTA goal is to ensure our Eagles have an extraordinary experience at Ashley Falls School.

The PTA pays for the 6th grade yard signs, 6th grade promotion ceremony decorationsand refreshments every year. We also pay for the "spirit wear" for the teachers in the "Teachers versus 6th graders game," which is a fun event that the whole school participates in. This is a highlight for many students on campus.

As PTA members of non-6th grade students, you are paying it forward as your children advance to 6th grade promotion. And to all the 6th grade parents, your PTA donations continue to make an impact until the last day your family is on our campus!

It is through the continued generous donations of Ashley Falls PTA members that we are able to fund all these items! Thank you to all our PTA members who donated beyond the general membership!

6th Grade Promotion Yard Signs

Families of current 6th graders! Don't forget to pick up your yard sign from the school front office! These are a gift from the Ashley Falls PTA for all 6th grade families! We are proud of our Eagles and excited for the next big step!

Mileage club for this school year concluded on Friday last week, and after 134 days of running, our grand total lap count is 31,379 laps. That brings our total distance for this school year to 5,976 miles.

The Ashley Falls PTA is proud to fully fund this unique program on our campus which encourages students to develop perseverance, endurance, and healthy habits!

Parents Night Out

Thank you to Kristen Howell and Jane Desai for planning our last Parents Night Out at New English Brewery!

We had a fun time and our DMUSD Board Member and Ashley Falls PTA member, Alan Kholos, was able to join us!

We hope to see you are our next Parents Night Out event next year!

PTA Board and Chair social event

Rumble Boxing Del Mar hosted some Ashley Falls Board members and Chair people for a fun social event recently. We are hoping to partner with them in fall for a larger Parents event and community partnership.

We continue to look for ways to engage the parents at Ashley Falls to build and strengthen our community. Let us know if "active parent-only activities" is something you'd be more interested in attending next year at vpexternal@ashleyfallspta.org.
