Newsletter 2.2 - September 29, 2023

A Message from the President

We Did It!

Way to answer the call, Ashley Falls Family!

We had over 80% of families join the PTA so far. And we've raised over $60,000 for our school! A record showing! Shout out to our amazing VP of Fundraising, Rachel Carnick!

You can still join at anytime this year, but to qualify for the classroom parties and drawings, you need to join by Sept 30th.

All funds will go towards improving and enriching the programs and events for all Ashley Falls students and families. I will keep you posted on how these funds will be deployed throughout the year.

I hope to see you at our General Association Meeting next Friday, Oct 6th from 8:00-8:45 am in the MUR.

Thank you, Ashley Falls Family, for showing up for our Eagles! It makes such a difference in all of their lives to have a community that rallies behind them!

Let's Celebrate!

Join us as we celebrate the end of our Membership Drive and Giving Campaign!

Friday, Sept 29th from 5 pm to 7 pm

on the Ashley Falls blacktop.

$5 pizza slices will also be available until we run out.

Cash or Venmo.

We know there are extracurricular events happening at all times after school, but please come at any time!

It's a fun time to mix and mingle and let the kids play!

If you'd like to help us with setting up or handing out ice cream,

we'd love to have your help!

PTA General Association Meeting

Everyone is welcome to attend our next General Association Meeting on

Friday, October 6th from 8-8:45 am in the MUR.

We will have coffee and refreshments.

We would love to have you come and stay for as long as your schedule allows. The MUR will be open at 7:45 am if you'd like to come by and look at our volunteer sign ups.

Come learn about some of the upcoming events and ways to get involved!

All PTA members can vote at the meeting!

Our meeting will include:

An Introduction to our New Library Media Specialist - Mrs. Watanabe,
Learning about our upcoming Scholastic Book Fair and how it helps the school;
How the Book Drive helps get kids involved in Giving Back to the community;
Some tips and tricks for helping your child read;
and Voting on our PTA Budget after our super successful drive.

Wednesday, October 4th!

We are joining in with schools across the country for the National Walk, Bike and Roll to School Day!

Here are a few "meet ups" in the neighborhood or you can grab a neighbor and cruise together!

Wednesday, Oct 4th from 6pm to 8:30pm

Our First Ashley Falls Parents Night Out is this Wednesday, Oct 4th from 6 pm-8:30pm at Rough Draft Brewery in the Skydeck.

The Ashley Falls PTA will be hosting light bites and reserving a few tables.

Please come and make some new connections with the Ashley Falls community (sans the kiddos)!

Halloween Carnival & Spooky House

Saturday Oct 28th 4:00-6:30 pm

Save the Date for our Annual Halloween Carnival and Spooky House!

This is a super fun family event for the community to participate in. And the highlight of every year is our Spooky House designed and operated by our 6th graders and 6th grade families!

More details to come in the Mid-October Newsletter!

The Halloween Carnival is one of the highlights of the year and its success is dependent on your help! We are in need of LOTS of volunteers for this event. This is a great volunteer opportunity for older high school siblings as well.

Sign ups are only 30 mins. Sign up with a friend!

Halloween Carnival Sign Ups

MILEAGE CLUB

Mileage Club is every morning from 7:45 am-8 amand Tuesdays and Fridays during lunch.

This program is funded by the PTA and facilitated by Coach Cunha and parent volunteers!

We need YOUR help! We need some more parent volunteers to make this program come to life. It's ONLY 15 mins and bringing another parent friend makes it more fun! Or you can socialize with the other parents who show up! It's quite the party!

There are long-term and short-term sign ups to work with your schedule!
